Trinomia: The Polypill With Three Active Ingredients
Trinomia is the first polypill drug that consists of three active ingredients. Doctors prescribe this drug to prevent cardiovascular problems. The three active ingredients present in trinomia are:
- acetylsalicylic acid
- atorvastatin
- ramipril
Doctors prescribe this drug to replace existing treatment in patients taking the three components at the same time. The doses normally used are the amounts needed to reduce the risk of a cardiovascular problem. This is especially true in cases where a cardiovascular problem has occurred before.
The composition
Trinomia capsules contain three different active ingredients, each of which affects cardiovascular risk factors. These active ingredients and their action are the following:

How to take Trinomia?
Your doctor will tell you how to start treatment with trinomia. In general, the usual dose is one capsule a day after dinner. It is also important to know that you should never open, crush or chew trinomia capsules.
Treatment should not be stopped abruptly without first talking to your doctor, as this is a medicine prescribed to patients at risk who have had a previous cardiovascular problem.
Possible side effects
Trinomia, like all medications, can cause side effects. However, the treatment should be stopped by the doctor if a person experiences serious side effects. Consider, among others, the following problems:
- Vomiting blood : This symptom is important, as it can be a sign of stomach bleeding.
- Allergic reactions: of the skin and respiratory tract, especially in asthmatics.

Trinomia with food, drink and alcohol

Trinomia during pregnancy and breastfeeding
