Face Masks To Eliminate Dark Spots On The Face

We recommend using these face masks to make dark spots less visible at night, as the ingredients they contain can cause unwanted side effects if the face is exposed to the sun shortly after use.
Face masks to eliminate dark spots on the face

Over time, acne and sun exposure can cause dark spots to appear on your skin, especially on your face.

Since we all want to be able to show off our perfect, young-looking skin all year round, most of us fall back on the well-known facials.

In this article we will tell you how best to make dark spots on the face less visible without using various expensive creams and lotions.

Why do dark spots appear on our face?

Dark spots can appear for a variety of reasons. Some of these reasons are:

  • Genes and hereditary properties
  • Age
  • Hormonal changes (e.g. pregnancy or menopause)

Spots on the face could also indicate a poor diet, too much sun exposure without sunscreen or conditions like a mask of pregnancy.

Some spots are darker than others and the size of these spots depends on several factors, such as aging or poor care.

Face masks against dark spots

It is very important to apply a good SPF cream to your skin after applying these masks and then cleaning your face. Many of the ingredients that these masks contain consist of ingredients that can have undesirable effects in combination with sunlight.

1. Lemon, Milk and Aloe Vera Mask

This first mask is very easy to make and is best used once a week for a month.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons milk (20 ml)
  • 5 tablespoons lemon juice (50 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel (30 grams)

Preparation method

  • Squeeze the juice from the lemon over a bowl.
  • Then add the milk to this.
  • Scrape the gel from an aloe vera leaf and add it to the rest of the ingredients.
  • Mix all ingredients well and spread this mixture over your dark spots.
  • Then put a piece of gauze over it and leave the mask on for a few hours. Then rinse your face with lukewarm water.

2. Mask of milk, glycerine, oxygenated water and lemon

For this mask we again use milk, an ingredient that makes the skin softer. We combine this ingredient with lemon. This is a fruit known for its properties to make dark spots less visible.

We recommend using this mask once a week in the evening.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons milk powder (20 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon liquid glycerin (10 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon oxygenated water (10 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (20 ml)

Preparation method

  • Mix the milk powder in a bowl with the oxygen-rich water.
  • Then add the glycerine and lemon juice and mix the ingredients together until you have a smooth paste.
  • Apply this mask to the areas of your skin you want to treat. Let it sit for twenty minutes. Then rinse your face with lukewarm water.

3. Mask of cucumber, oil and parsley

When you think of cucumbers, you often think of beauty treatments and days at the beach. This is because cucumber is often used on the eyes. This allows the eyelids to rest. It is also used to soften wrinkles.

In combination with other ingredients, this vegetable has a great effect on dark spots. We therefore recommend using this mask once a week.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons cucumber, without peel (30 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (20 grams)
  • 5 tablespoons sesame oil (or wheat germ oil) (75 grams)

Preparation method

  • Cut the cucumber in half and scrape the flesh from the skin or grate a piece of peeled cucumber into a bowl.
  • Wash the parsley and chop it as finely as possible. Put this together with the cucumber in a bowl.
  • Then add the oil and mix the ingredients well. If you want you can use a food processor for this.
  • Once you have an even consistency, you can apply the mask to your face. After twenty minutes, rinse it off with lukewarm water.

4. Lemon, Aloe Vera and Moisturizer Mask

If you don’t feel like using a homemade mask, you can also just mix a few ingredients with your favorite moisturizer.

In this recipe we use aloe vera and lemon; two perfect allies to remove dark spots and soften skin.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons of aloe vera gel (45 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (20 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons moisturizer (40 grams)

Preparation method

  • Cut off a leaf from your aloe vera plant, wash it well and remove the thorns to make it easier to scrape the gel out.
  • Cut the leaf open lengthwise and scrape out the gel.
  • Mix it in a bowl with the lemon juice.
  • Then mix in your usual moisturizer.
  • Apply the mask to your face  and make sure you distribute the mask well.
  • Leave it on for fifteen minutes and then rinse your face with lukewarm water.

5. Mask of olive oil, yogurt, oatmeal and lemon juice

This mask is a great way to make dark spots less visible and (thanks to the oatmeal) exfoliate your skin at the same time. That way you remove dead skin cells.

This mask is not only good against dark spots, but also against acne and blackheads. For best results, use the mask once a week.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons oatmeal (ground or flaked) (20 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (16 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon plain yogurt (20 grams)

Preparation method

  • Put the oatmeal in a bowl and then pour the olive oil over it.
  • Then add the yogurt to your mixture.
  • Squeeze the juice from a lemon and pour this juice over your mixture as well.
  • Mix the ingredients together well so that your mask has an even consistency (if necessary, you can add some oatmeal or yogurt to get the right consistency).
  • Apply this mask to your face in circular motions and leave it on for fifteen minutes.
  • Apply a little moisturizer to your face afterwards.
Green Mask

To prevent the development of dark spots on your skin, we recommend that you always use sunscreen or apply a day cream with SPF. It is also better to avoid the sun during the hottest afternoon hours (from 12 noon to 3 pm).

Furthermore, it is recommended to maintain a healthy diet that contains a lot of vegetables and fruit and to drink two liters of water per day.
