  • 2 medium onions
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tomato
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tablespoons red wine
  • 5 grams mustard (1 teaspoon)
  • 10 grams cumin (1 tablespoon)

Step by step instructions

  • To start, wash the steaks and put them in a plastic bag. Then hit them with a meat mallet until you notice they are thin enough.
  • Remove the steaks and discard the bag to avoid cross-contamination. Then put the meat in a bowl with a lid and add the mustard, cumin, garlic, 1 tablespoon olive oil, salt and pepper. Make sure to spread the ingredients throughout the meat to get a uniform taste.
  • Then put a lid on the container. You can also use plastic wrap or another zip-lock bag for this and keep it in the fridge.
  • Ideally, you should wait at least 2 hours for the meat to be fully marinated. You should therefore prepare it in advance. One thing you can do if you know you don’t have enough time is to do this step earlier and season the meat the night before.
  • Then heat the butter over medium heat in a medium saucepan. Meanwhile, cut the onion into rings or strips and cut the tomato into cubes.
  • Then add the onion to the skillet and cook for 10 minutes (check for golden brown). Then add the tomato, Worcestershire sauce and red wine.
  • Then leave it on the stove for another 10 minutes, without forgetting to stir occasionally.
  • At the same time, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Place the steaks in it and let them cook for 5 minutes on each side.
